As much as I love using my iPhone, I still like to have paper of some sort to jot down notes, lists, ideas, or other tid bits. I love the little mini Moleskine Volant Notebooks, so I made my own version.
I am smitten with this combination of colors for fall. And I always love anything that coordinates with my vintage blue mason jars.
You will need:
- Paper Source place cards or 3.5″ x 5″ pieces of card stock, scored down the center
- Graph paper cut into pieces that measure 3.25″ x 4.75″ (or any other text weight paper)
- A sewing machine and thread
- Twine or string
- Binder clips
The place cards from Paper Source come in tons of great colors and are pre-scored, so they are super easy to fold perfectly in half.
Center the sheets of graph paper on the cover. I used 6 pieces of paper in each notebook, so that there would be 12 pages when assembled. More than that makes them a little hard to fold. Hold everything in place with small binder clips.Stitch along the fold line using a straight stitch. I can’t sew in a very straight line, so don’t worry about it if you can’t, either.I like them nice and simple, but you could stamp or decorate the notebooks at this point, if you like.Stitch up a bunch of these for yourself, or tie them up with twine and they make the perfect little stocking stuffer or gift! And these are great to have on hand this time of year, for a simple but cute last minute hostess gift.
