Happy 2016 everyone!
I ended up taking an unintentional break during the holidays to work on some big projects, spend some quality time with my family, and think about what I want the next year to look like. And then decided to act like the Europeans, and let the holidays last until at least the 7th. Well, then it was Thursday, and what really gets accomplished on Thursdays and Fridays? So now it’s Monday and I’m ready to roll.
Over the last month or two, I have thought a lot about what I want for this little space, and in what direction I want to take it.
A few years ago, when I started this blog, it was just a place to post little snippets of family photo sessions I was shooting. But slowly it evolved, as all things do. I dabbled with travel photography while we lived in Honduras. Then started posting DIYs, which became so popular, that I thought I should post nothing but DIYs. Talked a lot about babies when my second was born. Moved to Europe and got back into travel photography, but much more in depth than before. And then…well…I wasn’t quite sure what should come next.
I have dabbled here and there and everywhere and never felt like I had a grasp on what I was doing. I was posting a little of this and a little of that, whenever inspiration struck.
I wanted to start 2016 with a clear vision for this space. What do I want this blog to be about? And what do I want you to get from it? I have always wanted this to be a place of inspiration. But for what exactly? I kept coming back to 2 main things.
Live Well.
I want this to be a place that inspires you to live well. To take care of your body and your soul. To connect with your family. To be creative. To be adventurous. To make things. To live simply and naturally. To read more books. To surround yourself with as much beauty as possible.
Travel Often.
I want this to be a place that inspires you to travel. As much and as often as you can. Near and far and everywhere in between. With plenty of tips on how to make it easier, more affordable, and more enjoyable. Especially if you have little ones!
So there it is.
Live Well & Travel Often.
So with that, expect to see a lot of changes around here in 2016. I am so excited about everything that is to come this year. I do hope you’ll stick around!
