Chalkboard Pumkins

Halloween is almost here!  Have you already carved your pumpkins?  We love carving pumpkins, with all the goop to play with and yummy pumpkin seeds to roast, but our pumpkins always seem to get a little squishy before Halloween.  So this year we decided to save the actual carving for the last minute and instead painted our pumpkins with Chalkboard paint.

Grab a pumpkin, a paintbrush, some chalkboard paint (1 can will last you forever!), and chalk.

Let your kids go wild on the pumpkins.  Don’t worry about how they paint, the pumpkins are so bumpy anyway that you won’t even be able to tell what the paint job looks like.

Let the paint dry overnight.

And that’s it!

Let them color and decorate their pumpkins as much as they would like.

When it is time to start over, gently wipe off their art work with a damp paper towel and start all over again.
