Happy Friday!
Summer in our house is officially coming to a close. (Although I hope summer weather decides to stick around for a while longer in Vienna.) We are all full of back-to-school, routines and organizing. But I am actually loving it. Even though I am no longer a student, I always see back-to-school time as a fresh start. A chance to clean out the clutter of the last few months. Set some new intentions, and get back into good habits. But I do get a little sad that my favorite season is almost over.
What about you? Do you love the fresh start that this time of year brings, or mourn the ending of summer?
Before we say goodbye to August, here are a few of my favorite things this month…
- My oldest started 2nd grade this week! My fingers are crossed she won’t have much homework this year.
- I’ve been putting one of these into her lunch box each day.
- These Emojis for people who live in Vienna made me laugh.
- The Dirty Dancing resort is real! And I will visit someday.
- How do you feel about people posting vacation photos? How much is too much?
- I don’t bring bribes for my fellow passengers when I fly, but I do smile! (More tips on flying with kids)
- The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: Expat Edition
- I finally saw this movie, and loved the scenes from Vienna.
- Speaking of Vienna, this Insiders Guide to Vienna is awesome! (And free!)
- My trusty duffel bag finally hit the dust after nearly 1o years. So I followed my husband’s lead and upgraded to one of these. Enjoying it so far. More thoughts to come.
- If you only click on one link this week, let it be this one: Why Our Life is Not a Journey. While there is so much here to think about, and so many takeaways, I was especially fascinated by the part about our school system. (Starting at approximately 1:24) Definitely something to think about as we send our kids off for a new school year.
Have a wonderful weekend!
